Job Description
Client is seeking an experienced Consultant to provide executive-level support directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). This role will focus on strategic oversight, project management, risk mitigation, and operational execution of priority initiatives within the CIO s office.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive portfolio oversight of the CIO s priority administrative initiatives, ensuring strategic alignment and timely execution.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to meet deadlines, enhance work quality, and drive key deliverables.
  • Support strategic and operational objectives, including departmental strategy oversight and AIM s reporting to City Administration and Council.
  • Assist in risk and issue management, including the development of internal audit risk control self-assessments (RCSA).
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for ad hoc high-priority assignments delegated by the CIO.

Key Deliverables (Initial Priorities)

  1. FY26 Strategic Objectives: Oversee the development of a logic model framework for the department s four focus areas.
  2. Governance Frameworks: Assist in revising structures for the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and Architecture Review Board (ARB).
  3. Risk & Issue Oversight: Monitor and manage non-project risks using Trello for tracking and resolution.
  4. Incident Response Preparedness: Conduct bimonthly incident response drills, update the Incident Response Plan, and coordinate with InfoTech Research Group, LLC.
  5. Risk Control Framework: Develop a structured RCSA framework for internal audit compliance.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in executive-level consulting, strategic planning, or portfolio management in a government or large enterprise setting.
  • Strong background in IT governance, risk management, and project oversight.
  • Familiarity with logic models, change management frameworks, and incident response protocols.
  • Experience with collaboration tools (e.g., Trello) and process improvement methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
