AWS Engineer

We have partnered with our client in their search for a AWS Engineer in Columbus OH or Wilmington DE

Responsibilities

• * Responsible for the end-to-end architecture of the product, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
  * Oversee the rationalization of assets owned or used by the product to optimize performance, cost, and resource utilization.
  * Define the target state architecture of the product and drive the achievement of the strategic goals.
  * Lay out the architectural runway and develop a technical roadmap to achieve the target state in incremental steps.
  * Ensure adherence to Enterprise Architecture standards and guidance, maintaining consistency and compliance across the product architecture.
  * Address data concerns and non-functional requirements, such as performance, scalability, security, and reliability, within the architectural plans.
  * Assess the changing needs of the business and its customers to identify the right architecture and technology solutions that support the product.
  * Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring best practices and standards are followed.
  * Conduct regular reviews and assessments of the product architecture to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous enhancement.
  
  
  * Represents a product family of technical governance bodies
  * Provides feedback and proposes improvements to architecture governance practices
  * Guides evaluation of current technology and leads evaluation of new technologies using existing standards and frameworks
  * Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  * Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  * Drives decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  * Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
  * Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
  * Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
  * Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Skills Required

• * Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  * Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  * Advanced in one or more programming language(s), applications, and architecture
  * Advanced knowledge of software architecture, applications, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  * Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
  * Practical cloud native experience
  * Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to select or recommend the best solutions for the future state architecture
  * Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
  
  *Preferred - 603:
  * AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional).
  * Experience in the Banking Domain.
  * Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or similar.
  * Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
  * Familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework and its principles for building secure, high-performing, resilient, and efficient infrastructure.
  * Experience with Artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.
  * Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.

• Degree BS BA or Equivalent
