Job Details
Job Summary:
The Airport IT Support Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing the Colorado Springs Airport's Common Use Passenger Processing System (CUPPs), digital signage platforms (FIDS/BIDS/GIDS/Advertising), and related IT infrastructure. The technician will perform daily system checks, respond to service requests, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, and support various airport IT projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. CUPPs Support:
- Perform daily system readiness checks for CUPPs.
- Image, patch, and maintain CUPPs workstations.
- Troubleshoot and replace hardware components and peripherals.
- Address configuration issues and respond to support calls.
- Coordinate with CUPPs support vendors and COS IT staff for resolution and implementation of changes.
- Log work orders and support tickets.
- Interface with airline partners for user training and issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and procedures.
2. Digital Signage Platform Support (FIDS/BIDS/GIDS/Advertising):
- Perform daily checks and patching of signage systems.
- Troubleshoot and replace hardware components and resolve system errors.
- Respond to calls for service and coordinate with vendors and IT staff.
- Interface with airline partners for signage-related support.
- Maintain and update system documentation.
3. IT Project Support:
- Assist with hardware deployment, configuration, and testing for airport IT projects.
- Support airport technology upgrades and new system integrations.
- Maintain detailed documentation for IT project deliverables and technical environments.
Minimum Education Requirements:
- Associate s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
(Bachelor s degree preferred)
Certifications (Required or Preferred):
- CompTIA A+ Required
- CompTIA Network+ Preferred
- Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate Preferred
- ITIL Foundation Certification Preferred for service ticketing and workflow familiarity
- Any vendor-specific certifications related to CUPPs platforms (e.g., SITA, Collins Aerospace ARINC) Highly desirable
Experience Requirements:
- 3+ years of hands-on IT support experience in a technical field role
- Experience with hardware imaging, patching, and component-level repair
- Experience supporting Windows-based workstations and digital signage platforms
- Prior experience in airport IT systems or airline industry technologies is a strong plus
- Experience with ticketing systems, documentation, and IT vendor coordination
Key Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication, especially when interfacing with non-technical users (e.g., airline staff)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Comfortable working in high-security environments (e.g., airside/sterile zones)
- Detail-oriented with a focus on documentation and systems integrity
