Job Details

This senior individual contributor role supports PMG interests across care delivery investment governance, evaluation of care delivery capabilities, cross-market alignment, vendor and product assessments, and support of the CIO-s care delivery technology strategy. The position analyzes Kaiser Permanente-s current and future technical and operational information needs and leads business and technology planning aligned with national and regional strategies. The role advises executive and cross-functional leadership on business systems, data, and process initiatives, and leads the implementation of technology and business process integration efforts across systems and workflows.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manages information relevant to forecasting business's future technical and operational information needs.
- Provides recommendations to management regarding the development and definition of the business/technology strategy based on stakeholder input.
- Manages and/or supports business and/or technology plans to ensure capability for alignment with business unit and KP's national and regional strategies.
- Manages and/or supports the processes of information systems needs in project areas such as new business operating models, innovative approaches to IT solutions support, market research of emerging or available product functionality and operational readiness assessment.
- Leads the implementation of technology or business process integration plans.
- Provides support to leadership by providing information regarding business systems, data, process initiatives, and vendors.
- Manages systems and business process activities.
- Provides support to cross-functional management and leadership by providing information regarding business and technology issues.
- Provides consultation and guidance to ensure technology or process owners have access to the required information and training for effective system or process operations.
- Develops, prepares, and utilizes reports to track operational performance across business functions, areas, or vendors.
- Tracks annual IT projects, staffing, purchasing, operations, and/or capital budgets.
- Tracks, maintains, and reports performance metrics (for example, data quality, customer metrics, financials).
- Supports leadership in reviewing performance metrics and outcomes to drive ongoing operational change and improvements.
- Provides analytics to evaluate and ensure efficient, cost effective operational solutions which support systems processes and functional requirements.
- Conducts, reviews, and summarizes research on topics related to technology and business initiatives.
- Analyzes identified problems in technology and business solutions to determine cause and achieve desired resolution.
- Monitors trends and changes in healthcare technology and information systems.
- Supports technologies, systems solution design, data, and metrics in alignment with the organization's vision, goals and objectives.
- Leads and supports initiatives in alignment with other National initiatives.
- Prepares source documents and monitors the use of established and documented IT processes, tools, and best practices.
- Leads and/or participates in cross-functional and/or cross divisional task forces to identify and document functional requirements, workflow, information sources and system specifications.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
- Minimum two (2) years in a leadership role working with project or functional teams.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, CIS, Mathematics, or related field and Five (5) years experience in business operations, IT consulting, business analysis, or a related field. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
License, Certification, Registration

Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above).
- Three (3) years experience working on cross-functional project teams.
- Three (3) years experience in business case development and analysis.
- Four (4) years experience in business/data analytics.
- Master's degree in Business Administration, CIS, or related field.
- Three (3) years experience working for a health care organization.
- Three (3) years experience working for an IT organization.
- Two (2) years experience working on projects or programs requiring the integration of cross-functional technology and/or business solutions.
- Three (3) years consulting experience in clinical administration.
- Three (3) years consulting experience in health plan administration.
- Three (3) years experience in business operations process improvement, including process analysis, development, and improvement/automation.
- Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) or other comparable business analyst or IT consulting certification.
- Accredited process certification (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean IT).
- PMI certification.
