About this Position:
Job Title: Exchange/O365 Lead
Key Responsibilities:
1. Migration Leadership and Technical Oversight

  • Lead the technical discovery and assessment of the existing Exchange 2019 environment.

  • Design and implement a hybrid Exchange configuration, including enabling MRS endpoints and cutover preparation.

  • Drive the Exchange Online migration strategy including pilot migration, data sync, and mailbox cutover.

2. Hybrid Configuration and Coexistence

  • Configure and validate the hybrid Exchange environment to support coexistence during migration.

  • Confirm message routing, client access, and calendar interoperability between on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Implement necessary updates to the Exchange 2019 server and configure Hybrid role settings.

3. Mailbox Cutover and Finalization

  • Establish mailbox sync groups, conduct migration testing, and execute pilot and full user cutovers.

  • Guide users and administrative staff during the Outlook reconnection process.

  • Ensure inactive mailboxes are archived or converted per Agency requirements.

4. Application Reconfiguration and SSO Integration

  • Reconfigure agency applications to use Microsoft 365 for mail delivery.

  • Implement Single Sign-On (SSO) between Barracuda Cloud and Microsoft 365 environment.

5. Documentation and Handoff

  • Document all Exchange environment changes, hybrid configuration settings, and mailbox migration procedures.

  • Provide post-migration support and technical guidance for Exchange decommissioning.

  • Collaborate with support staff for knowledge transfer and end-user issue resolution.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange Server and O365 migrations.

  • Expertise in configuring hybrid Exchange environments.

  • Deep knowledge of Exchange Online Protection (EOP), Azure AD Connect, and PowerShell scripting.

  • Experience with SSO and Barracuda cloud integration preferred.

  • Microsoft certification (e.g., MS-102, MS-700, or Exchange/M365-related) highly desirable.
