In this position...
The Test Engineer is responsible for all testing equipment in the plant for both ICE and Battery Products. Apply engineering principles & analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.

What you'll do...
  • Maintain completed Defect Testing Matrix for all test equipment.
  • Must be available to work alternate shifts as needed.
  • Assist Production and Quality departments in determining the root cause(s) of the top test stand rejects in the production areas.
  • Daily provide Engineering Supervisor with Final line Test FTT reports and status of top rejects prior to production meeting
  • Lead reject resolution meetings in addressing test stand top FTT concerns.
  • Use test stand WMA software to monitor test stand FTT and stand to stand correlation.
  • Assist Maintenance and Production in troubleshooting and repairing down test equipment. Investigate and implement corrective actions to address top availability issues. (I.E. faults and downtime)
  • Conduct Daily review quality indicators - ECBs (Early Concern Binning), Rawsonville Warranty Reports, QRs (Quality Reject) and FQAs (Final Quality Audit) issues
  • Track concerns and review initial test results/data from all relevant test equipment.
  • Champion use of data to understand and resolve test failure root causes.
  • Monitor failures and communicate multiple identical failures issues to appropriate management personnel and group leaders for resolution at source, (i.e. operator, vendor, process, etc.).
  • Ensure that resolution of issues is addressed with the goal to drive In-Station Process Control (ISPC), Error Proofing, and improved Process Capability.
  • Once suspect unit is returned, record any retest of defect testing data-along with analysis-then assist the Engineering and Quality team in determining root cause, and document improvement actions to test equipment.
  • Conduct a monthly review of all critical test point variable trend charts. Verify test point trends and current limits. Investigate or notify correct personnel of any unusual trends.


You'll have...
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Proven experience of EOL testing principles including data knowledge of leak, Electrical, Helium and restriction testers
  • Strong interpersonal skills working with individuals of diverse cultural, academic, and cognitive backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to provide effective coaching/mentoring
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to be flexible in work scheduling

Even better, you may have...
  • Experience: Certified 6-Sigma Black Belt
  • Mechanical and Electrical knowledge of Electric / Hybrid Vehicle battery assembly
  • WMA test software experience
  • Sciemetric software experience
