Job Description

Join our Team as a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer - IoT Innovation!

The Role:

We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Sr. Electrical Systems Engineer who brings enthusiasm and expertise to the table. In this role, you'll lead the design and integration of state-of-the-art IoT solutions into advanced equipment, transforming concepts into impactful products. We're seeking an individual contributor with deep technical expertise and track record of handling complex engineering project - from ideation through full-scale production - in a dynamic, agile environment. We value innovative and creative ideas-yes, even during meetings (where snacks are always welcome). If you enjoy tackling challenges with positivity and a bit of humor, you'll feel right at home here.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Define, design, and implement next-generation IoT telematics components. You'll drive feasibility studies and spearhead the development of smart sensors and integrated systems that redefine material handling.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, quality) to ensure designs are robust, manufacturable, and cost-effective. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.
  • Leverage your expertise in electronics to create, integrate, and refine smart hardware solutions that push the boundaries of IoT technology.
  • Develop and maintain key engineering documentation - DFMEA, DVP&R, test plans, calibration procedures, and technical manuals - to uphold quality standards throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools (DMM, oscilloscopes, logic analyzer, etc.) to rapidly identify and resolve hardware and software issues in real time.
  • Lead technical discussions with internal and external suppliers to troubleshoot integration challenges and secure optimal component solutions.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in Electrical Systems Engineering - ideally with a strong background in IoT or related fields.
  • Deep knowledge of electronics design (PCB schematic and layout) coupled with working knowledge of programming languages (C, C++, Python), and expertise in designing for manufacturability.
  • Extensive experience with system integration tools (CANalyzer and CANbus) and a solid understanding of vehicle dynamics and controller hardware/software.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to manage complex technical challenges under pressure.
  • A strategic thinker who excels at articulating technical concepts and collaborating with diverse, cross-cultural teams.
  • Willingness to maintain a regular onsite presence while balancing strategic responsibilities and day-to-day project management.

What Sets You Apart:
  • Over 15 years of experience in electrical hardware design, with a strong focus on new product development.
  • Proven expertise in designing electrical components for forklifts or off-highway vehicles.
  • Track record of successfully leading product development from proof of concept through to launch.
  • Hands-on experience with telematics systems, including antenna (RF), radio modules (Cellular/GNSS/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth), sensor integration, and regulatory compliance testing.

Where and When You'll Work:
  • This is an in-person role located at our Columbus, Indiana - ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:

Salary - $118,500 - $155,000 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate's education and experience.

Relocation: This role may be eligible for relocation assistance.

World Class Benefits:
  • Competitive Salary
  • Performance Bonus
  • Generous Paid Time Off and 13 Paid Holidays
  • Affordable Medical plans and no-cost Dental & Vision options
  • 100% 401(k) match up to 6%
  • Company-Paid Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability
  • Tuition Assistance Program
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with access to mental health care, legal support, and financial guidance
  • Recognition and Kaizen (continuous improvement) Reward Programs
  • Meaningful opportunities for personal and professional development
  • Onsite Fitness Center & Occupational Health Clinic
  • Best in class work culture!
