Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Desktop Engineer to join our IT team with a focus on supporting a fast-paced trade floor environment. This role requires deep technical expertise, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in high-pressure situations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Office 365 administration, mobile device management (MDM), break/fix support, and managing on-premises services for a diverse user base.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on trade floor support for traders, executives, and other VIP users in a high-urgency environment.
- Manage and maintain end-user workstations, including Windows 10/11 and Mac devices.
- Perform break/fix troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution for hardware and software issues.
- Administer and support Office 365 applications and services including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Manage and support MDM solutions (e.g., Intune, Workspace ONE) for mobile devices and endpoint compliance.
- Oversee and maintain on-prem services, including Active Directory, print servers, and application deployments.
- Coordinate with infrastructure and networking teams to resolve complex system issues.
- Participate in software rollouts, patch management, and desktop imaging initiatives.
- Document technical processes and maintain accurate configuration records.
- Mentor junior support staff and act as an escalation point for advanced desktop issues.
Requirements
Must-Have Skills:
- 6+ years of experience in desktop engineering or IT support, with 2+ years in a senior or trade floor support role
- Deep knowledge of Office 365 suite administration
- Hands-on experience with MDM platforms (Intune, MobileIron, Workspace ONE, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting skills for break/fix hardware/software issues
- Familiarity with on-prem IT infrastructure, including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
- Experience supporting high-pressure environments such as trading or financial services
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Scripting experience (PowerShell preferred)
- ITIL certification or similar
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk)
- Experience with VDI environments or Citrix
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, ITIL) are a plus
