Job Title: User Assistance Developer (Vancouver, BC Onsite)
Location: Vancouver, BC
Duration: Long Term Contract

Job Description:
We are looking for a User Assistance Developer with a passion for creating clear, concise, and effective user content that improves software usability and end-user experience. The ideal candidate will work closely with product managers, developers, QA, and UX designers to deliver top-quality user documentation and in-app guidance.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain user guides, online help, in-app assistance, and training materials.
- Gather technical information through hands-on testing, reviewing product specifications, and interviews with SMEs and cross-functional teams.
- Translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand user content tailored for target audiences.
- Collaborate with UX and product teams to integrate user assistance directly into applications.
- Follow documentation standards, style guides, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality.
- Ensure user assistance is aligned with product release timelines and Agile development cycles.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in technical writing, UX writing, or user assistance development.
- Experience creating documentation for enterprise software or technical products.
- Strong understanding of software development processes, particularly Agile/Scrum.
- Excellent communication and writing skills with attention to detail.
- Hands-on experience testing software products to ensure documentation accuracy.
- Proficiency with documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, Adobe FrameMaker, Markdown, or DITA-based systems.
- Familiarity with in-app guidance tools like WalkMe, Whatfix, or Pendo is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in computer science, engineering, or related technical field.
- Experience working with APIs, SDKs, or developer tools.
- Exposure to localization/internationalization processes.
- UX/UI writing experience is highly desirable.
