Description
We are looking for an experienced Network Administrator to join our team in Lansing, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity across local and wide area networks. The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in data center environments, including hands-on experience with NX-OS, Palo Alto Firewalls, and S2S technologies, as well as a strong understanding of network performance and capacity planning.
Responsibilities:
Manage, configure, and optimize network devices, software, and communication links to ensure smooth operations.
Troubleshoot network performance issues and implement solutions to improve redundancy, quality of service, and capacity.
Monitor network health, conduct capacity planning, and ensure proactive maintenance of resources.
Handle complex support tickets related to network administration, including route/switch and device configuration.
Participate in on-call rotations to address network issues and provide timely resolutions.
Lead technical planning for upgrades and patches in core technologies, demonstrating leadership and expertise.
Develop and document standards and procedures for network administration within the department.
Self-manage discrete technical projects, delegating tasks and collaborating effectively with team members.
Provide technical guidance and act as a primary resource for specific technologies in the organization.
Maintain a customer-focused approach and deliver reliable IT support in all interactions.
Requirements
Extensive experience with data center technologies and infrastructure, including NX-OS and Palo Alto Firewalls.
Proficiency in Cisco networking, including CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certifications.
Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching and routing protocols.
Familiarity with firewall technologies and LAN/WAN environments.
Ability to independently manage complex network administration tasks and support tickets.
Demonstrated ability to monitor and analyze network traffic and performance.
Experience in drafting technical documentation and standards for enterprise use.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
