About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Robotics Engineer to join our team at a leading defense contractor. This mid-to-senior level role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in robotics, automation, and controls, particularly in high-volume, low-mix manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robotic automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
- Program and integrate Fanuc and Epson robots with existing systems using PLC programming.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and drive process improvements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for robotic systems and workflows.
- Optimize production lines to maximize uptime, throughput, and quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, implementing continuous improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in robotics or automation engineering, with a focus on high-volume, low-mix manufacturing.
- Proficiency in PLC programming and industrial robot integration (Fanuc and Epson preferred).
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Experience with machine tending and automating manual stations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Experience with additional industrial robots and automation platforms.
- Demonstrated success in increasing manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
