RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is seeking a remote CMOD z/OS Specialist. As a CMOD z/OS Specialist, you will operate in a dynamic, multi-technology environment that supports critical CMOD applications across customers.
You will:
* Install CMOD on z/OS, provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, and coordinate tasks to address effective problem determination and resolution
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams inside and outside of the company to prioritize and resolve technical issues using strong analytical and negotiation skills
* Be forward thinking to recommend and implement optimizations, automation, and enhancements to existing tools, procedures, and support processes
* Contribute to the development and deployment of intellectual capital using new processes, support tools, and technologies to enhance your area of practice
* Share knowledge by mentoring team members and delivering technical training sessions
REQUIREMENTS:
* Over 5 years of hands-on experience with CMOD architecture, components, and deployment models on z/OS
* At least 1 year of experience in Technical Support with CMOD on z/OS
* Solid expertise in the z/OS environment, with a strong focus on the maintenance and support of system tools
* Strong COBOL/REXX coding skills
* Expertise in installing or updating base products such as CMOD using SMP/E utilities
* Installation and configuration of CMOD on z/OS tailored to a customer environment
* Root cause analysis of z/OS components that can affect CMOD operations
* Security and compliance practices as they apply to CMOD on z/OS
* Experience in customizing a CMOD configuration in a z/OS environment
* CMOD system administration experience as it relates to tuning and capacity planning
* CMOD report administration experience as it relates to adding/updating a CMOD data model
* Experience in all basic z/OS operating system components, such as TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JES2, DFSMS components (including OAM), and JCL procedures
* Expertise in z/OS utility programs such as IDCAMS, IEBGENER, IEBCOPY, etc.
* Expertise in Unix System Services (USS) and how to manage files created in hfs/zfs file systems
* Advanced skills in log analysis, trace interpretation, and root cause identification
* Experience with CMOD exits, user exits, and customizations for z/OS
* Ability to debug in Java, COBOL, or REXX languages used in CMOD integrations
* Familiarity with DB2 and its interaction with CMOD on z/OS
* Familiarity with APIs and SDKs used for CMOD integration (e.g., ODWEK, CMOD command line utilities)
* Strong skills in problem recreation, analyzing logs and traces, debugging complex issues to determine a course of action
* Familiarity with additional z/OS technologies beyond the core tools listed
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
