Title: Principal Java Software Engineer
Location: One Destiny Way, Westlake, Texas 76262 (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 Months
Hybrid – 2 alternate weeks onsite per month
**Onsite Interviews Required**
Interview: Team is requesting candidates for first round interviews next week. Two rounds of experience
- 1 hour one on one with the manager
- 2nd round will be onsite - REQUIRED
Required Skills:
- Sr. 10+ years preferred
- Java Developer - Backend MID-tier heavy
- Some .net required (Exposure of .Net is the bare minimum for this opening but recent proficiency is preferred)
- Connecting to Databases - Any database experience should be fine
- Spring Boot, Spring MVC
- Creating REST API's from scratch
Need deployment experience to the cloud without the help of a devops team.

The Role:
- A Senior Software Engineer that thrives in an environment where we are using innovative technologies to provide first class digital experience for our clients and customers.
- You will be involved in building or enhancing existing 401k business capabilities that help millions of Client’s customers prepare better for retirement while delivering industry best experiences.
- Candidates should be prepared for multiple new projects coming in 2026. A variety of framework experience will be helpful for quick pivoting.
- You will be responsible for design, development, testing and deployment of scalable and innovative solutions that help Client’s customers plan & invest for retirement, manage and transact from their DC retirement accounts.
- You will be part of an agile engineering scrum team working in a fast-paced environment, closely collaborating with product, architecture and other engineering teams.
- The team as recently embarked on at 5 year initiative to accelerate to the Cloud, work with consumers to migrate and decommission our legacy platforms.
The Experience You Have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technology discipline
- 7-10+ years of software development experience on business critical, enterprise wide applications
- Strong knowledge Java coding practices for mid-tier applications that perform business logic and calculations. This role is not for UI/Front end developers.
- Expertise in building scalable, server-side enterprise applications, domain logic intensive RESTful APIs
- Experience leading a team of developers
- Experience with re-platforming large applications
- Expertise in designing, developing and maintaining high-volume transactional systems
- Experience in developing cloud neutral applications in AWS/Azure
- Ability to debug through legacy systems and capture current state to aid with modernization
- Actively participates in and contributes to formal reviews of architecture, design, and code
- Experience with Mainframe applications
- Publishes clear, concise and thorough design documentation
- Provides support for software releases into production environments
- Experience leading and mentoring junior software developers
- Fosters teamwork and collaboration across global development teams, business and systems partners.
- Experience building technology solutions in the financial services industry is preferred.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum Methodologies is preferred.
The Skills You Bring
- Experience with developing RESTful API design and development
- Experience in design patterns & principles such as OO, DD, SOA, Microservices etc.
- Experience developing skills in Java, Spring MVC, Spring Core, Spring Boot
- Experience developing software using OOA, OOD, and OOP principles & design patterns
- Experience developing software utilizing relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server or Sybase)
- Experience developing software applications with Popular IDEs (Eclipse/IntelliJ)
- Experience with Source Control Systems such as GIT
- CICD experience using Azure DevOps and Jenkins.
- An understanding of Micro-services Architecture and domain driven design patterns
- Developing and deploying 12-factor, containerized (Docker, Kubernetes) API’s to AWS/Azure
- Collaboration with producer and consumer teams to implement end-to-end solutions in a customer obsessed
- Experience developing software applying relational databases
- Experience with Test automation for unit, functional and non-functional testing (SOATEST, SOASTA, Cucumber)
- Ability to develop technical artifacts based on analysis of business and systems requirements
- Skills to discover/document implementations from legacy systems, C++, Java. .NET, as part of re- platform.
- Knowledge of the current technologies and evolving trends
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and technologies
- Detail oriented coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills coupled with effective written and verbal communication skills
- Must be an organized self-starter with a collaborative work style, and the ability to multi-task.
