Job Details

We are looking for a Java Web Developer for a long-term contract opportunity in Austin, Texas. This position may require occasional on-site presence.
Responsibilities:

  • Perform web development tasks as part of an IT Scheduled Releases team.
  • Develop Java full-stack solutions with a strong focus on front-end implementation.
  • Participate in all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including analysis, diagnostics, and resolution of software, data, hardware, and reporting issues.
  • Troubleshoot system problems for both internal and external clients.
  • Design, develop, and test web applications that meet technical specifications as well as accessibility and usability standards.
  • Document existing processes and review specification changes or additions.
  • Create and execute test cases for defects related to new or updated program policies.
  • Analyze, design, and develop logical and well-structured programs and systems tailored to customer needs.
  • Produce well-documented code to support maintainability by other developers.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation standards, development procedures, and organizational goals.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support ongoing operations.

You:

  • Experience in EAP 8, Java OpenJDK 1.8 or above, Spring batch 2.1.8, iText-2.1.5, Squirrel SQL Client.
  • 4+ years of background in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x/7.x (RHEL), Red Hat CodeReady Studio 12.21.3.GA.
  • 4+ years of involvement in migrating web content to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (RHEL 8).
  • 4+ years of proficiency in web development.
  • 4+ years of demonstrated ability to collaborate with web admin, Unix admin, and IT teams.
  • 4+ years of hands-on work in migrating web content from legacy servers to current web servers.
  • 4+ years of capability in managing and migrating environments to RHEL 8.
  • 4+ years of expertise in server-side development using PHP.
  • 4+ years of proficiency with Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP (LAMP stack)
  • 4+ years of familiarity with DB2 Database.
  • 4+ years of applied knowledge of web security best practices (OWASP, secure coding), including prevention of SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, and use of Web Application Firewall (WAF).
  • 4+ years of engagement with Government Regulations/Compliance.
  • 4+ years of adherence to Style Guides and Standards, with support from Web Admins for adaptation
  • 4+ years of usage of GitHub repository or similar version control systems.
  • 4+ years of hands-on use of Visual Studio Code or similar development environments.
