Description

Member of Systems Capability Team Highway and Urban Driving (Hwy/Urban) Maneuvers, perform and participate in software development and provide Hwy/Urban Maneuvers subsystem requirements for Decision Making (Motion Planning), Perception, Mapping, Localization and System Learning and Update (SLU), Feature Moding and Control Vehicle Motion teams, to define vehicle level maneuvering (city, highway, and subdivision driving) systems capability development and performance for Ultra Cruise Level 2 hands off autonomous driving. Review and analyze Solution Management team mission plans and decompose vehicle use cases to develop automated driving systems capability requirements such as route following and navigation, including changes from on ramp highway merges, lane reduction merges, lane splits, highway exits. Define and break down vehicle level performance requirements for Highway and Urban Driving capability for Ultra Cruise assisted and automated driving into individual system level design requirements for Decision making (Motion Planning), Perception, Mapping, Localization and System Learning and Update (SLU), Feature Moding, and Control Vehicle Motion systems, using Jama, IBM Rational DOORS and IBM Rational DOORS Next Generation (DNG) tools. Perform daytime in vehicle testing 1-2 days per week on public roads in Metropolitan Detroit area to evaluate subjective and objective performance of Ultra Cruise automated driving systems.

Additional Description

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. One (1) year of experience as Engineer or related. Must also have experience with: testing and verifying in vehicle or on test bench Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) software including Decision Making, Perception, Mapping, and Localization for Level 2 autonomous driving system.
