Description
We are looking for a skilled NOC Technician to join our team in Somerset, New Jersey. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, focusing on network operations and infrastructure management. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach to troubleshooting, configuring, and maintaining network systems.
Responsibilities:
Extend circuits from the demarcation point to client equipment and collaborate with teams to resolve connectivity issues.
Install and manage network cabling, including copper and fiber, while adhering to labeling and patch panel standards.
Diagnose and resolve network problems using tools such as cable analyzers.
Decommission outdated servers and network equipment, ensuring proper disposal procedures are followed.
Configure server settings, switch ports, and VLANs to meet production requirements.
Maintain accurate records for decommissioned servers, including inventory tracking in spreadsheets.
Handle troubleshooting and installation tasks submitted through a ticketing system.
Supervise equipment installation teams, overseeing device setup and cable installations.
Implement and manage new patch panel infrastructure to support organizational needs.
Update and maintain virtual databases to ensure accurate device and connection documentation.
Requirements
Proven experience in network operations and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in installing and managing copper and fiber cabling.
Hands-on experience with cable analyzers and other diagnostic tools.
Familiarity with server configurations, VLANs, and switch port setups.
Strong organizational skills for inventory and documentation management.
Ability to work with ticketing systems to address support requests.
Excellent communication and team coordination abilities.
Knowledge of patch panel infrastructure and device installation processes.
