Job Details:
Job Title: Quality Inspector 1
Location: Goleta, CA
Duration: 6 months
Responsibilities:
*) Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products.
*) Perform required inspections (visual, dimensional, functional, etc.) on spacecraft components.
*) Uses various measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, pin gages, and a Coordinate Measuring Machine.
*) This job has decision-making responsibilities with regard to the acceptance or rejection of work and tests performed.
*) Inspects and performs tests on mechanical, electrical, or structural components and assemblies related to spacecraft components and sub-assemblies. Inspections vary from close tolerance dimensional checks to general surveillance of the work in progress.
*) Accepts, rejects, or reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
*) Work from drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, and inspection instructions.
Basic Qualifications for Receiving Quality Inspector Level 2
*) High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and/or direct experience in a quality assurance or inspection role
*) Experience utilizing various measuring devices, such as caliper, micrometers, comparator, gages, pin gages, and other inspection tools
*) Knowledge of GD&T with the ability to read and comprehend detailed control plans, work instructions, drawings, Bills of Materials, Specifications, and related criteria
Preferred Qualifications for Receiving Quality Inspector Level 2:
*) Strong Computer skills
*) Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface across the organization to achieve effective results
*) Experience working in a team environment to solve problems and balance workloads.
*) Experience in Aerospace manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, and/or electronic assemblies.
