Job Description:

The primary purpose of the Technology Specialist is to provide expert IT infrastructure technology leadership for the new client Campus project to implement IT infrastructures that will be constructed to replace the Dorothea Dix campus IT networks.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Gather and define business, functional and technical requirements definition.
• Perform data modeling, process modeling and prototyping, and create conceptual and detailed architecture/designs (network and security), detailed specifications, IT infrastructure implementation plans, and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) product integration plans.
• Create technical documentation and training materials.
• Perform product/system research and review.
• Support the development of technical requirements for RFI/RFP/IFBs.
• Evaluate proposals submitted in response to issued RFI/RFP/IFBs.
• Support the development of disaster recovery plans.
• Review technical documents produced by the Developer or other external sources.
• Perform technical architecture and other deliverable reviews for large-scale projects.
• Assist the client Project Manager with technical work breakdown structures and technical cost estimation.
• Assist with issue and risk management.
• Assist in any development and review of project management and technical documentation.
• Perform tasks as assigned by the client Project Manager.

The experience and skill sets needed are as follows:

• Understanding and experience with project management methodology.
• An in-depth understanding of distributed computing using N-tier, distributed processing, client/server, and Internet/intranet technologies.
• Experience with the implementation of both COTS and customized enterprise networks.
• Experience developing technical and non-technical solutions for supporting business process reengineering.
• Experience with large scale projects crossing myriad functional areas using state-of-the-art technologies.
• Experience acting as liaison between business and technical staff
• Experience with performing impact technical analysis
• Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation and interviewing/facilitation skills.
• Eight (8) years experience is the minimum preferred for the proposed Advanced Technology Specialist.

Skills:

• Perform technical analysis of the current as-built network/infrastructure for the purpose of designing and implementing a new secure IT network/infrastructure solution.-Required-8-Years
• Provide IT infrastructure/systems support and transition knowledge to operations and maintenance support staff.-Required-8-Years
• In-depth knowledge of network infrastructures, virtualization, LANs; VLANs; WANs; WLANs; SANs; RTLS; VPN; TCP/IP; session initiation protocol (SIP);-Required-8-Years
• in depth knowledge with Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2); videoconferencing; firewalls, voice, data and unified communications (UCS);-Required-8-Years
• Experience developing/reviewing assessment tools.-Required-8-Years
• Able to produce accurate and thorough technical documentation.-Required-8-Years
• Experience with developing and reviewing technical requirements, designs and implementation plans.-Required-8-Years
• The Advanced Technology Specialist must have Technical Lead experience on large, complex automation/IT infrastructure implementation projects.-Required-8-Years
• CCNP, CCIE, Certified Cisco Specialist or equivalent experience is required-Required-8-Years
• Install, configure, integrate and test (all levels) IT infrastructure components/systems (custom and COTS).-Required-8-Years
• Perform IT planning, systems conversion and/or migration.-Required-8-Years
• Work with the Senior Architect to assure continuity of planned technologies.-Required-8-Years
