Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

We are entering a pivotal phase in our growth and are seeking an experienced Oracle Exadata Specialist to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our database environment as we scale to meet strategic growth objectives .

The ideal candidate will provide advanced expertise in Oracle Exadata, bridging the current skill gap within our team while enabling knowledge transfer and long-term sustainability.
This position leads support for software and hardware infrastructure related to database technologies at a high level of complexity. Supports database infrastructure for the Bank's sales, service, and corporate support applications through expertise and daily performance monitoring. Implements, upgrades, and tests technical systems. Resolves escalated technical issues reported by users or system alerts. Drives operational excellence and systems efficiency, providing continuous service both through daily activities and through on-call rotation for after-hours support. Implements disaster recovery testing and may provide oversight to technical associates or projects.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Support - Provides support for technical systems that execute business applications at a high level of ability and expertise . Configures, installs, and upgrades systems. Resolves complex, escalated technical issues. Responsible for administration, communication, and documentation throughout technical support activities. Manages technical projects and assists management with other business initiatives.
  • System Testing - Leads testing and monitoring activities that ensure all applications dependent on the infrastructure function without issues. Automates tasks or tests to provide continuous monitoring. Designs solutions that address system weaknesses or common issues and oversees their implementation.
  • Data Security - Responsible for the security, management, and recovery of the Bank's distributed data assets. May lead disaster recovery efforts and other initiatives designed to protect the Bank's assets.
  • Technical Expertise -
  • Provide expert-level administration, monitoring, and performance tuning of Oracle Exadata systems
  • Maintains a strong knowledge base of software, hardware, and related database infrastructure through ongoing research. Communicates effective and clear technical information to associates and management. Serves as a resource to wider business unit, management, and project teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Database Engineering OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Database Engineering

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred Area of Study: Relational Databases Preferred Area of Experience: Financial Sector License or Certification Type: Oracle Certification

Preferred Skill(s):
  • Understanding of relational database constructs, High availability design of databases, Structured query language
  • Familiarity of multiple database platforms (for example, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Netezza, Postgres etc.),
  • Familiarity with various tools or utilities used in supporting database platforms (Commvault, TOAD, DBVisualizer , Idera , Solarwinds , etc )
  • Proven experience administering and managing Oracle Exadata environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC,ASM ,Data Guard and database performance tuning
  • Hands-on experience with Exadata patching,upgrades , and capacity planning.
  • Familiarity with OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) and hybrid environments is a plus


The base pay for this position is generally between $116,000 and $178,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
