Job Details

Our client, a leading medical device company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their R&D team. This role involves contributing to the design, development, and support of diagnostic systems and electromechanical components in a regulated environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, experience with complex assemblies, and a track record of bringing products from concept through development and into manufacturing. This is a hands-on engineering role that also involves cross-functional collaboration and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an individual contributor or technical lead on R&D projects.
  • Design and develop new test methods, components, and sub-systems.
  • Support design control activities including documentation, risk analysis, and verification.
  • Analyze data, identify trends, and recommend next steps.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in hardware, software, and systems engineering.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance as needed.
Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 7+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in lab automation, robotics, or medical devices.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (Creo preferred), and knowledge of simulation tools.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and DFM/DFA practices.
  • Experience designing motion systems, precision fluidics, and thermal management solutions.
  • Familiarity with medical device quality systems and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO).
Preferred Experience:
  • Background in IVD product development.
  • Experience with robotic systems or motion control.
  • Involvement across the full product development lifecycle.
  • Technical leadership or mentoring experience.
