Pharmaceutical/ Medical Technologies manufacturing is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the growing team at Johnson & Johnson Athens Campus. This role will serve as the main liaison for electrical installations and maintenance in a fast paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implementing the highest engineering standards to ensure safety, BCP (Business Continuity Plan) and compliance on electrical infrastructure.
  • Lead and be responsible for the site electrical distribution system ensuring all regulatory and J&J standards are met at adhered to.
  • Leads tasks to actualize scope of work and execution plans for electrical design and engineering projects.
  • Develop electrical Standard Operating Standards.
  • Completes project tasks to the estimated effort and duration and communicates completeness, schedule conflicts, and resource needs to the project manager.
  • Collaborates with the project team in addressing technical problems, design conflicts, risks, and testing issues.
  • Participates in project documentation and summarizes status reports to management for review and follow-up.
  • Attends to and details quality control issues in compliance with organizational production and design standards.
  • Identifies and escalates to management, opportunities to improve project planning, reviews, and execution.
  • Lead studies into the potential effects of Harmonics and other electrical interference to the site distribution system from renewable energy supplies.
  • Ability to design electrical systems as part of an integrated project team.
  • Support the site management of the site wide electrical distribution system and load sharing.
  • Ensure compliance to all the relevant national standards for Electrical Distribution systems and associated infrastructure.
  • Prepare and modify Electrical Drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs.
  • Provide hands-on experience to trouble shoot any electrical issues, as required.
  • Provide support if needed to the supervision and co-ordination of equipment installations and shut downs.
  • Support the maintenance of critical electrical supply systems including generator back up and UPS systems.
  • Review, maintain, and challenge ESSP (Electrical Standards and Safety Protocol) Assessments.
  • Review and update Electrical Asset conditions per the Facilities Condition Assessment and provide input/ plan for asset replacements.
  • Implement/ review/ lead Electrical Systems preventive maintenance program.
  • Lead external relations with Electrical Engineering firms/ Georgia Power/ FM Global.
  • Verify/ review Safety and Compliance of electrical installations on project, changes. etc.
  • Authorize/ stop Electrical Work Permit/ Live Electrical Work Permit management.
  • Coaches more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities.
  • Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson's Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team.

Qualifications

Education:
  • Associates or technical degree in or related to Electrical Engineering is required; Bachelor of Science (BS) or equivalent University degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
Experience and Skills:

Required:
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience is required for candidates with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering. Alternatively, candidates with an Associate's or technical degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field should have 10-12 years of relevant experience and a Master Electrician License.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead contractors.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of NEC/ NFPA and other applicable electrical codes.
  • Proficiencies in work working with computer systems and Office programs (i.e. work, excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience working within a Manufacturing Plant preferred.
  • Ability to carry/ handle 40 pounds.
  • Experience leading people.
Preferred:
  • Experience in manufacturing.
  • Electrical design experience.
  • Relevant AutoCAD experience preferred, as well as management of drawing records experience.
Other:
  • A Master Electrician License is not required for candidates holding a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficiency (oral & written) in the English language is required.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required.
