Job Details

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril's Mission Command group deploys world class products to bespoke environments to multiply warfighter efficacy and give decision makers informational power. Our products solve problems no one else can touch, which creates unique and challenging security problems we must solve, in scenarios where we cannot fail. To accomplish this task, we are looking for highly motivated security engineers that can think like an APT attacker while building lean and optimized security architecture. If you play competitive capture the flag, understand the ins and outs of the X.509 certificate specifications, and have no problem communicating directly with developers to fix bugs over the long term, this role is for you.

The ideal candidate has a background in electrical or software engineering, with a focus on software security, either offensive or defensive. They will be able to conduct complex security architecture reviews, exploit and mitigate vulnerabilities across our entire stack from the hardware up to Kubernetes, understand complicated network architectures across the OSI model, and drive the construction of critical security features in collaboration with other engineering teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Own the creation and implementation of security software for the Mission Command group
  • Find, exploit, and take ownership of security vulnerabilities across the Mission Command product line
  • Work autonomously to correctly prioritize security needs and fill gaps before anyone else finds them
  • Collaborate and build solutions with engineering teams to meet and exceed industry-standard security goals
  • Engage directly with teams to remediate uncovered weaknesses in designs, implementations, integrations, and processes
  • Own processes throughout the software development lifecycle, including both pre-market and post-market processes engineering teams leverage to bake security in from the ground up

Requirements:
  • Proficient with one or more programming languages (e.g. C/C++, Golang, Rust, Python)
  • Experience implementing security features for operating systems, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure
  • Knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 Web Application vulnerabilities
  • Proficient with public key infrastructure (PKI) and other cryptographic primitives
  • Understands Kubernetes security architecture and techniques to prevent vertical and horizontal privilege escalation
  • Strong and professional communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated commitment to practical, mission-enabling security solutions
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • In depth knowledge of cyber threat actors, their TTPs, and their implications for weapon and space system operations
  • Regularly builds, tests, and delivers production-ready systems, especially for distributed systems
  • Competitive capture the flag experience
  • Bug bounty experience
  • Published CVEs
  • In depth knowledge regarding OS level security protections such as SELinux and eBPF
  • Experience deploying vulnerability mitigations across production fleets
  • Experience conducting incident response in both cloud and on-premise systems

U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data.

Anduril is an equal-opportunity employer, and we encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply. If you are someone passionate to work on problems that matter, we'd love to hear from you!
