Our Challenge:

We are seeking a skilled Teradata Developer to join our dynamic data team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Teradata database development, design, and optimization. The Teradata Developer will be responsible for creating data models, developing ETL processes, and managing data warehousing solutions to support business analytics and reporting.

 

Additional Information:

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.

In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $100k-$110k/year & benefits (see below).

 

The Role

Responsibilities:

 

  • Database Development: Design, develop, and maintain Teradata databases, including tables, views, and stored procedures.
  • ETL Processes: Implement and optimize ETL processes using tools such as Informatica, Talend, or Teradata's own tools to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Teradata.
  • Data Modeling: Develop logical and physical data models to support business requirements and data analytics initiatives.
  • Performance Tuning: Analyze and optimize SQL queries for performance, ensuring efficient data retrieval and processing.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for database architecture, processes, and data models.
  • Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing support for Teradata environments, including troubleshooting issues and implementing upgrades or enhancements.
  • Data Governance: Ensure data quality and integrity by applying data governance and best practices in data management.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 8+ years of experience in Teradata development.
    • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
    • Proficiency in SQL and Teradata-specific SQL extensions.
    • Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend) and data modeling tools.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of Teradata architecture and components.
    • Experience with performance tuning and optimization of Teradata systems.
    • Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

 

Preferred, but not required:

  • Teradata certification (e.g., Teradata Certified Professional).
  • Experience with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or R is desirable.
