Overview
GovCIO is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect with deep expertise in cloud engineering to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Technology (OIT). In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior OIT partners, architects, business stakeholders, and functional consultants to develop strategies for optimizing IT investments and solutions, with a strong focus on secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architecture. This position is fully remote, located in the United States.
Please note: The contract has been awarded; however, this position remains unfunded and is contingent upon funding release.

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the VA IT architecture, business operations, and ongoing modernization initiatives.
- Cultivate trusted advisory relationships with Product Line Technical leaders, providing strategic guidance and technical expertise .
- Design and refine technology roadmaps and strategies that align with broader organizational objectives .
- Advocate for and support the Intake process of new initiatives and change requests, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Present and defend technical perspectives with clarity and confidence in both individual and team discussions.
- D ocument and report on value delivery across IT initiatives to demonstrate impact and drive informed decision-making.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science , Information Systems, Information Resource Management, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may substitute for a degree.
- 8+ years of experience in technical management within complex IT organizations, spanning small-scale projects to enterprise-level initiatives.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills, tailored to diverse audiences and stakeholder groups.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience leading or supporting initiatives within the Veterans Affairs Office of Information Technology (OIT), Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), and/or Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
- Jira expertise , optimizing workflow management and collaboration.
- Experience in enterprise technology design and future-state architecture.
