POSITION: Engineer Lead

DEPARTMENT: Engineering

REPORTS TO: Chief Engineer

FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt

Summary

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for an Engineer Lead for ASM Global/Salt Palace Convention Center. Under the guidance of the Chief Engineer, the Engineer Lead has a key role in all aspects of venue maintenance and engineering, ensure proper operation of all systems including, but not limited to; chillers, boilers, building automation systems, electrical systems, and plumbing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain, diagnose, and correct facility and appropriate building systems in all facilities within appropriate discipline.
  • Responsible for the training and oversight of any junior or new hired personnel during their onboarding process, including continued training opportunities for current staff.
  • Repairs and maintains all facility systems and equipment.
  • Inspects systems throughout facility to detect malfunctions or breakdowns.
  • Investigates malfunctions or breakdowns of systems to diagnose causes and locate the source of the problem.
  • Implements corrective actions and solutions.
  • Anticipates potential malfunctions or breakdowns and takes appropriate action to prevent or minimize curtailment of services.
  • Operates auxiliary supply systems when a breakdown occurs.
  • Coordinates shutdown and start-ups of utilities when conditions require it.
  • Follows procedures for use of work orders using Altum.
  • Adheres to OSHA, NFPA and other applicable safety codes.
  • Monitor and change temperature using the BMS.
  • Install temporary utilities for exhibitors.
  • Changing of lamps, ballasts and fixtures around the facility.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Experience & Knowledge
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. An associate degree or pursuit of a Bachelor's degree and/or tradesman degree and/or certification is preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited technical school is preferred.
  • 1+ year hands-on experience with HVAC equipment, HVAC/plumbing certification/licensing is preferred.
  • Forklift Certification a plus

Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week, In-Office

Salary: $28/hourly

Schedule: Weekend shifts, Ability to work irregular / extended/ rotating hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as required.
