Job Details

Title: Support Engineer III ( Assembly Technician)
Location: Redmond, WA (Onsite)
Duration: 9+ Month Contract
Compensation: $29 - 33.00/hr

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembly Technician to support our optical systems and satellite manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, with experience in laboratory settings and maintenance of high-precision equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on laboratory and manufacturing equipment.
- Assist in the calibration and testing of optical systems and satellite components.
- Conduct quality control inspections and document test results.
- Maintain and troubleshoot optical testing setups and associated hardware.
- Ensure compliance with ESD and cleanroom protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and inventory of tools and supplies.
- Participate in training programs and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
- Experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment
- Experience with common electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, etc.)
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and laboratory equipment.
- Proven track record of delivering results on time.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to review and develop written instructions, document work performed, and follow up with engineers and management as needed.
- Familiarity with optical testing methods and equipment (interferometers, power meters, fiber optic architecture)
- Experience in PCBA modification, wire harness fabrication, and prototype hardware testing for the aerospace industry.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting the development of space based systems.
- Experience working in aerospace manufacturing.
- Experience with satellite systems and related technologies.
- Experience with PCBA rework, including hand soldering of electronic components and reading schematics
- Current or recently expired certification in IPC soldering standards including 7711/7721, J-STD, and J-STD Space Applications.
- Knowledge of CAD software (NX UGS) and technical documentation practices.
- Familiarity with PLM Software (Teamcenter) a plus.
- Certification in ESD control or clean room operations is a plus.
- Laser Safety Officer Certification
