Job Title: Senior Risk Manager
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Type: 6-Month Contract (w/ possibility of full-time position after contract)

The Senior Risk Manager will play a key role in supporting a health and human services organization by strengthening patient safety, improving quality of care, and reducing risk across multiple service areas. This position partners with leadership to address risk events, enhance compliance efforts, and lead process improvements across outpatient healthcare, residential substance use treatment, crisis stabilization, public health, and prevention/intervention programs. The role oversees event reporting, privacy compliance, and risk assessments, while supporting accreditation and policy development efforts. A collaborative mindset, strong project management skills, and experience in risk, compliance, or healthcare are highly valued.


Your role:


  • Collaborate with leadership to manage and resolve clinical risk events, patient complaints, and facility incidents.
  • Lead advanced root cause analyses and recommend process improvements to enhance patient safety and quality of care.
  • Facilitate risk management and forms committees, ensuring follow-up on safety and documentation issues.
  • Supervise risk and compliance team members to improve patient experience and reduce risk exposure.
  • Develop, implement, and update the annual risk management plan and related policies.
  • Oversee the event/incident reporting system, ensuring timely investigation and resolution of issues.
  • Complete risk assessments and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Partner with clinical, facilities, safety, and infection control teams to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable federal, state, tribal, and accreditation requirements.
  • Manage regulatory compliance initiatives, including chart audits and quality improvement processes.
  • Serve as a key resource for risk management, compliance, and performance improvement efforts.
  • Support accreditation preparation and ongoing compliance.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by providing data analysis, KPI development, and quarterly reports.


What you ve got:


  • Experience in project management, preferably in risk management, compliance, or healthcare.
  • Knowledge of privacy and confidentiality regulations.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis and quality improvement tools.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements and healthcare accreditation standards.
  • Proficiency in data management and reporting tools, including spreadsheets.
  • Ability to write clear and effective policies, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Experience facilitating groups and working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and related software.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Healthcare experience and familiarity with HIPAA preferred but not required.
