Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform Cloud Subject Matter Expert with deep technical expertise in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), architecture, and solutioning. The ideal candidate must have actual work experience (not just training) in cloud architecture, infrastructure, automation, and enterprise system integration. The candidate must also possess strong communication skills and a consultative approach to working with business and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:

• Expert knowledge of Google Cloud services with an active Google Cloud Associate or Professional certification.
• Research, analyze, and evaluate existing and proposed business systems and procedures to develop Google Cloud Platform-centric solutions that achieve optimal performance and cost efficiency.
• Deep knowledge of industry developments, business information systems practices, development methodologies, Agile application lifecycle, test-driven development, continuous code integration, and modern cloud technologies, particularly Google Cloud Platform.
• Lead the design, development, and deployment of performant cloud business software on Google Cloud Platform at scale, including infrastructure, networking, compute, storage, and virtualization.
• Integrate Google Cloud Platform services with other SaaS or on-premise technologies from vendors such as Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, Linux, SAP, etc.
• Experience managing IT compliance and risk requirements (SOX, PCI, etc.) in cloud environments, particularly Google Cloud Platform.
• Automate complex tasks on Google Cloud Platform using scripting/coding skills or automation tools like Shell, Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef, or Puppet.
• Enterprise-level knowledge of cloud architecture including servers, storage, virtualization, high availability, performance management, and enterprise infrastructure monitoring for highly available web-scale systems.

Desired Qualifications:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for developing and presenting management briefings, providing technical guidance, and preparing reports.
• Familiarity with design patterns for scalable and maintainable applications/solutions.
• Ability to clearly document code, models, and technical solutions.
• Proficiency in Generative AI and prompt engineering.
• Continuous learning and adaptability within large IT organizations.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and executive stakeholders.
• Expertise in troubleshooting technical implementations within large-scale enterprise ecosystems.
• Understanding of CI/CD, containerization, and deployment strategies.
• Experience querying and managing SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency creating technical diagrams using Microsoft Visio or Draw.io.
• Proficiency creating technical design and architecture documents in Microsoft Word.
• Skilled in building business and technical presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Ability to create data visualizations, charts, and reports using Microsoft Excel and Power BI.

Tasks may include (but are not limited to):

• Advise and assist IT functional groups in defining and implementing solutions aligned with a Cloud-based Microservices/Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) for infrastructure or business applications.
• Create architecture deliverables for cloud solutions detailing bill of materials, technology components, vendor components, cost estimates, and design parameters for implementation teams.
• Prepare solution descriptions, assumptions, technical approaches, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
• Lead cultural change initiatives for cloud adoption and actively participate in developing infrastructure solution roadmaps related to public cloud offerings.
• Create and communicate cloud policies, procedures, standards, design patterns, and reference architectures for repeatable solutions.
• Identify and develop training and development materials for cloud solution standards and deliver training to the intended audience.
• Interface with vendors to ensure standard architectures are adhered to and implemented in projects.
• Provide technical direction and leadership to teams involved in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of business information systems.
• Ensure infrastructure and application solution designs align with enterprise architecture standards, policies, processes, and industry best practices.
• Research and analyze cloud technology trends to determine potential impacts on the IT enterprise, making strategic recommendations.
• Ensure architecture governance structures are applied to solution areas in alignment with business and IT strategies.
• Manage publication and updates of solution standards for cloud-hosted solutions.
• Provide leadership and technical assistance as an IT SWAT team member for problem-solving in systems design and development projects.
