Role Summary
The VP of Infrastructure Service Delivery is a critical executive leadership position responsible for defining and executing the global infrastructure strategy to ensure world-class service delivery, operational excellence, and architectural alignment with enterprise business objectives. This role requires executive presence, deep expertise in large-scale Cloud/Hybrid-Cloud environments, and proven success in leading complex organizational and technical transformations.
Strategic Leadership & Governance:
- Enterprise Infrastructure Strategy: Define the multi-year infrastructure roadmap and strategy for all foundational technology services (Cloud, Network, Compute, Storage, Data Center), ensuring maximum availability, security, and cost-efficiency.
- Executive Governance: Establish and lead the Infrastructure Governance framework, including formal SLA reviews with business leaders and steering committees for major technology investments.
- Risk and Compliance: Oversee the proactive identification and mitigation of operational and security risks related to infrastructure. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g., SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA).
- Vendor & Partnership Management: Manage strategic relationships and negotiations with top-tier technology vendors and managed service providers, focusing on multi-million dollar contracts and performance optimization.
Cloud Transformation & Operational Excellence:
- Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE): Lead the strategy and operations of the Cloud CCOE, driving migration initiatives, governing cloud architecture standards, and ensuring full realization of the Cloud-First strategy.
- FinOps Accountability: Hold direct accountability for the multi-million dollar infrastructure operational budget (OpEx and CapEx). Implement and enforce FinOps principles to optimize cloud spend and TCO across the enterprise.
- Global Operations: Oversee 24x7 global operational teams, ensuring the highest standards of service availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity across hybrid-cloud and on-premises data center environments.
Large-Scale Program Delivery & Architecture:
- Portfolio Ownership: Own and sponsor the delivery of the entire portfolio of large-scale infrastructure programs (e.g., core system modernizations, M&A integrations, global network redesigns).
- Architecture Alignment: Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture function to ensure all new and existing service delivery models align with long-term architectural standards and technology stacks.
- Process Transformation: Drive continuous, metric-based improvement using frameworks like ITIL (v4 focused), DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to enhance service speed, quality, and predictability.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor s degree required; Master s degree (MBA or MS in Technology Management) highly preferred.
- Experience: [15 +] years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, with at least [10+] years in senior leadership/executive roles overseeing global infrastructure service delivery.
- Experience in using AI and Automation to improve compliance and margins,
- Experience in ensuring process maturity.
- Experience in working across multiple accounts is preferred.
- Scale and Scope: Proven experience managing infrastructure supporting thousands of global users and a multi-million dollar budget.
- Cloud Expertise: Deep, verifiable experience in architecting, migrating, and operating at scale within one or more major public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
Certifications and Competencies:
- Executive ITIL Certification (e.g., ITIL Expert or Managing Professional).
- Executive Project/Program Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PgMP, or equivalent).
- Cloud certifications at a professional or specialty level (e.g., AWS Certified Solution Architect - Professional).
Executive Leadership Skills:
- Visionary Leadership: Ability to articulate a clear, compelling technology vision that inspires teams and aligns with business strategy.
- Financial Acumen: Exceptional budget management, forecasting, and ability to present financial impact to the C-suite.
- Executive Communication: Outstanding ability to communicate complex technical concepts, strategy, and performance metrics to non-technical executive stakeholders and the Board.
- Organizational Development: Track record of successfully building, restructuring, and mentoring high-performing, geographically distributed technology teams.
