The Hypersonics Advanced Programs team is looking for Systems Engineering Architect, on the Systems Engineering team to perform Research and Development of future capabilities.
In this role, your primary responsibilities include:

Design, develop, and oversee system architecture
Provide systems thinking and big picture insight to system design activities
Ensure conversion of mission requirements into total systems solutions that account for design and technology maturity constraints of the system
Develop systems and subsystem requirement and interface definition
Support design reviews, peer reviews, system trades, and analysis efforts
Support a lean, high value Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach in Cameo
Work in conjunction with the MBSE developers to ensure system architecture has sufficient coverage and traceability; identify and mitigate system gaps
Support CONOPS maturity and development
Work in conjunction with flight sciences, analysts, and other IPTs to refine analysis needs for the program near term and long term

Secondary responsibilities are to support the Systems Engineering team's goals, which include:

Mentor and guide junior systems engineers
Derive requirements and interfaces and support specification development in DOORS
Define key performance parameters and technical performance measures
Create MBSE tools and views, such as requirement gap analysis, traceability, interfaces, and verification mapping
Support verification and validation planning
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines across a small, (hypersonic) fast-paced, dynamic program; adapting to the rapidly changing environment of a development program on a challenging schedule
Use your excellent communication skills and self-motivating drive to work across Lockheed Martin business areas to progress towards a common goal
Promote a positive teamwork culture within a small, diverse team spread across multiple sites

The successful applicant will typically have a Bachelors degree within an Engineering discipline coupled with 9+ years of related professional work experience.

Basic Qualifications

Experience with the Systems Engineering development process
Active or Current DoD Secret Security clearance

Desired skills

Accredited degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
Experience as a systems engineer executing a missile development program and achieving a successful flight test
Proficient with MBSE No Magic Cameo Systems Modeler
Proficient with DOORS
Proficient in SysML or UML
Experience with the Systems Engineering development process on a DoD program preferred
Experience defining missile system architectures (such as allocate system design margins, assess requirement and design gaps, or assess technical performance measures)

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
