About The Role:
The primary responsibility of the position is the engineering development of commercial water chilling systems. The role includes leading the integration of mechanical system designs into chiller and split system new product development programs. In this capacity, the senior engineer will be responsible for developing solutions that best meet the local/global market needs by integrating multiple technologies in the product. To do this, the senior engineer must have a strong understanding of the thermodynamics of the chiller system, chiller modeling, tube in shell heat transfer, pressure vessel design, refrigerant system performance analysis and compression application.

About The Role:

To do this, the senior engineer must have a strong understanding of the thermodynamics of the chiller system, chiller modeling, tube in shell heat transfer, pressure vessel design, refrigerant system performance analysis and compression application.
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage elements of product development activities including cost estimates, implementation of standard specifications, drawing board layout and interpretation, and development of performance or maintenance requirements.
- Execute test and qualification for systems, sub-systems, and components. Review test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications.
- Enhance commonality and optimization of product & components.
- Test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess operating condition effects and necessity of modification.
- Produce parts, specifications, designs, or sketches for machines, components, systems or work orders / purchase requests
- Work with quality clinic and related departments to support the test and verification of field issues.
- Thermodynamic based modeling and optimization of chiller system design, fluid filtration and pumping
- Work cross functionally with service and operations teams to effectively launch designs into production
- Develop chiller system architecture that meets or exceeds the product development requirements
- Confirm product design performance, capability and reliability in the engineering product test laboratories
- Collaborate with the product marketing teams locally to develop product requirements and ensure that the product meets their needs when launched
- Execute tests for systems, sub-systems, and components. Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives.
- Follow all appropriate design, safety, and qualification standards in development programs.
- Work toward commonality and optimization of product & components to reduce design errors and escapes.
- Produce parts, specifications, designs, or sketches for machines, components, systems or work orders / purchase requests
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of systems engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project leadership experience
- Experience in a new product development, service and/or aftermarket space, preferred
- HVAC industry experience, strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills, primarily in English
- Leadership and teamwork skills required
