JOB DESCRIPTION - Engineering Analyst/Java Developer

Position Notes: Open to fully remote or hybrid

Job Description Summary

We are seeking a Java Developer to join a hybrid environment Scrum team that supports Actuarial processes. This team focuses on the processing of data that is eventually: provided to actuaries, used for the creation of reports, or fed into or read out of vendor systems. Technologies that are key to this role include Java, Spring, Spring Batch, and Spring Boot Batch.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Work to solve problems with a test and learn mindset.
  • Provide ongoing support of business applications and respond to production needs.
  • Participate in all stages of system development testing, implementation activities of low to moderately complex nature.
  • Support and maintain Distribution business knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.


Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience with Java and the Spring framework.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Computer Science or related field).


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with agile/scrum methodologies.
  • Java 8 experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, and Junit.
