Position: Grafana Dashboard Specialist
Location: Dallas, TX(Hybrid)(Locals)
Duration: 6+ Months
Visa: Client won't be able to sponsor any visa

Focus: Observability and monitoring strategy, integrations, and automation

Key Differentiators

  • This is not an SRE role, but monitoring is part of the SRE domain.
  • Requires engineering-level expertise, not just alert management.
  • Candidate should demonstrate integration experience (tools they've administered and how they connected them).

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and implement observability solutions using Grafana Cloud and related tools.
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations for infrastructure, applications, and business services.
  • Integrate Grafana with other monitoring tools and platforms.
  • Set up and manage Prometheus for metrics collection.
  • Define and configure monitoring thresholds and alerting strategies.
  • Implement automation for observability using CI/CD pipelines and Terraform.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure observability is embedded in systems.
  • Implement synthetic monitoring (e.g., K6).
  • Work with OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Grafana: 1 2 years of hands-on experience (Grafana Cloud preferred).
  • Prometheus: Strong experience with metrics collection and integration.
  • Monitoring Mindset: Deep understanding of monitoring principles for infrastructure and applications (not just user-facing alerts).
  • Observability Tools: Experience integrating multiple tools into a cohesive observability stack.
  • Automation: Familiarity with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Synthetic Monitoring: Hands-on experience with tools like K6.
  • OpenTelemetry: Practical experience implementing distributed tracing.
  • Engineering Background: Ability to build and integrate observability solutions (not just alert management).
