Join the team responsible for ensuring the highest quality for technologies at the heart of Apples products known to surprise and delight our customers. This team is a part of the Core OS organization and collaborates closely with a diverse group of cross-functional teams on providing test solutions for innovative system services and architectures that leverage OS, Networking and Security frameworks. This role provides a chance for you to shape popular features that deliver seamless, cutting-edge interactions across the ecosystem and push the boundaries of quality and user experience.
Description This is a highly entrepreneurial team, always looking for innovative ways to improve status quo and solve difficult problems in new and better ways. We are looking for someone who is interested in exploring and driving the charge on quality for multiple software technologies throughout the stack. You will work with cross-functional teams across Apple to proactively develop overall test planning, execution and quality reporting for your areas of responsibility. The nature of the position requires the candidate to possess excellent communication and problem solving skills, along with a drive to make a difference. The ideal candidate will be highly technical, creative, motivated, and results driven and be able to work independently.

Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $120,300 and $210,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Responsibilities
- As a Software Developer in Test on this team you will be responsible for creating and updating test plans for different test areas within your purview. You will also design, develop, and own automated tests for new Apple HW, support validation and, triage and investigate test results. A part of your role will involve working closely with cross-functional development and quality teams. You will also be responsible for building strong relationships with teams across CoreOS, Software Engineering, Internet Services, Retail, Marketing, Operations, and Hardware Engineering.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Embedded systems and Networking stack through coursework, academic projects, internships or work experience.
- Good understanding of testing methodologies and QA processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and debugging skills, and experience with Python or other object-oriented languages.
- Ability to ramp up quickly on both new and existing technologies.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrable ability to drive improvements in the processes and workflows for software development and validation.
- Demonstrable experience in automated test development, preferably in Python.
- QA Experience in Client-Server Applications, Network, Software or Security Systems testing.
- Experience in defining test validation strategies and developing comprehensive test plans at firmware/driver or system level.
- Proven ability to work independently and demonstrable cross-functional leadership with good project/time management skills.
