Job Description:
Pay Range: $60.13hr - $64.13hr
- The Snowflake Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines and transformations within the Snowflake Data Cloud.
- The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable data architectures, ensure data quality and governance, and deliver efficient, reliable, and secure data solutions to support enterprise analytics and operations.
- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and transformations within Snowflake using SQL and Snowpark (Python).
- Build and maintain Streams, Tasks, Materialized Views, and Dashboards for real-time and scheduled data operations.
- Develop and automate CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake deployments using Jenkins or similar tools.
- Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and cloud engineers to design scalable and efficient data models.
- Implement data quality, lineage, and governance frameworks aligned with enterprise standards and compliance (HIPAA, PHI/PII).
- Monitor data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency, proactively optimizing workloads and resources.
- Integrate Snowflake with dbt and Kafka for end-to-end orchestration and streaming workflows.
- Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting for complex data and performance issues in production.
- Translate complex business data requirements into elegant, maintainable, and scalable technical solutions.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake Data Cloud, including Streams, Tasks, Dashboards, and Materialized Views.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for complex queries, stored procedures, and query optimization.
- Proficiency in Python, with practical experience using Snowpark for data transformations.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake using DevOps tools such as Jenkins.
- Strong understanding of data modeling methodologies (Kimball, Data Vault, or 3NF).
- Experience with data governance, lineage, and metadata tools (Collibra, Alation, or Azure Purview).
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Experience with dbt or Kafka for data orchestration and streaming.
- Exposure to data quality frameworks such as Great Expectations or Monte Carlo.
- Understanding of real-time and batch data ingestion architectures.
- Snowflake Certification (SnowPro Core or Advanced).
- Experience in healthcare, insurance, or other regulated data environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in Agile or cross-functional DevOps teams.
