Job Title: Sr. SQL Developer
Location: Chicago IL
Duration: Full Time
Job Description:
Sr. Developer/System Analyst with strong technical and analytical skills. Must have Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance experience (specialty insurance preferred). The role includes application development, production support, close collaboration with business teams, and mentoring developers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and enhance applications.
- Act as primary contact for development and production support.
- Manage and support SQL databases across environments.
- Analyze technical issues, risks, and create mitigation strategies.
- Maintain technical documentation and assist with training.
- Work with business leads, product owners, and cross-functional teams.
- Provide technical/functional guidance and mentor junior developers.
- Stay updated with industry and technology trends.
Required Skills:
- P&C insurance experience (mandatory).
- 8+ years with SQL, VBScript, JavaScript.
- Experience in ETL, SSIS, and automation workflows.
- Familiarity with policy admin platforms.
- Tools: Documaker, Rackley, Infomaker, PowerBuilder, Retool, GoAnywhere, Redgate, Git.
- Knowledge of ConceptOne, AIM, ImageRight preferred.
- Agile (Scrum/Kanban), Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, ITIL.
- Strong understanding of web apps, SOA, microservices, APIs, containers, managed databases.
- Cloud experience (Azure, Google Cloud Platform) nice to have.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's in IT or Computer Science.
- 8+ years professional experience.
