The BI Architect will be responsible for the following core activities:

Strategy, Architecture, and Roadmap

  • As-Is, To-Be Reference Architecture: Define the current-state BI ecosystem and architect the target-state (To-Be) reference architecture for all BI solutions, platforms, and processes, ensuring alignment with overall enterprise data strategy.
  • Roadmap for BI Strategy: Develop and maintain a comprehensive BI Strategy and Technology Roadmap, prioritizing initiatives that deliver maximum business value and drive the adoption of modern BI practices.
  • Modern BI Approach: Champion and implement a Modern BI Approach, including decentralized data consumption, self-service capabilities, and cloud-native services.

Governance, Program Management, and Stakeholder Alignment

  • Governance, Engagement, Manage Program Plan: Establish and lead the BI Governance framework, ensuring compliance with standards, policies, and quality controls. Manage the overall BI program plan, tracking key milestones and deliverables.
  • Align Priorities with Genmab team: Act as the primary technical partner for the Genmab team, translating their strategic objectives into BI requirements and ensuring project priorities are aligned with their needs.
  • Manage Priorities, Schedule, Budget, Quality: Oversee all program management aspects, including managing project priorities, schedules, budgets, and quality of deliverables.
  • Collaborate on Data Products: Collaborate closely with data and business teams to define the semantic layer and bind dashboards for 2-3 critical domain data products.

Optimization and Rationalization

  • Assess and Recommend BI Tool Rationalization: Conduct a thorough assessment of the current BI tools portfolio and recommend a strategy for BI tool rationalization to reduce complexity, consolidate platforms, and lower total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • License Rationalization Approach, initial pilot: Define and execute a License Rationalization Approach for existing BI tools, including running an initial pilot program to validate cost savings and process efficiency.
  • Report Rationalization Approach: Develop and implement a Report Rationalization Approach for in-scope reports, assisting with a pilot program to streamline reporting, eliminate redundancy, and migrate to modern platforms.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data warehousing, data modeling, and business intelligence, with at least 3 years in a dedicated BI/Data Architect role.
  • Deep expertise in defining As-Is and To-Be BI architectures and developing strategic roadmaps.
  • Proven experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform) and their native BI/analytics services.
  • Expertise in various BI platforms, data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik), and data modeling techniques (e.g., Kimball, Inmon).
  • Strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, and Metadata Management principles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry (experience with Genmab is a plus).
  • Certification in a relevant cloud platform (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer Associate).
  • Familiarity with Data Mesh principles and modern data product development.
  • Experience with Semantic Layer technologies and data cataloging solutions.
