Description:
We re currently hiring for a Shipping Supervisor position, and we re looking to cast a wider net for candidates with 3 5 years of experience in light industrial or warehouse environments.
This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing a team of 3. The ideal candidate will have experience organizing daily shipments, preparing LTL and fuel truck deliveries, and managing packing, labeling, and palletizing tasks. They ll also be responsible for keeping the team on track, communicating updates, and ensuring shipping goals are met.
We re especially interested in candidates who may have supervised in a light industrial setting or have the potential to grow into a leadership role.
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinating transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments
Responding to customer inquiries and referring clients to the proper channels
Reviewing purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy
Making special shipping arrangements as necessary (LTL and FULL TRUCK LOAD)
Enforcing processes to prevent shipping errors
Tracking and fixing shipping errors
Processing shipments through internal systems to generate bills and invoices
Managing distribution and shipment budgets
Ensuring that the quality of all services provided meets the required standards
Developing processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized
Skills:
Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor and materials.
Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
Familiar with applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production.
Forklift / Order Picker certification (previous or current) preferred
Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel and TEAMS.
English and Spanish speaking preferred
Ability to adapt to changing business needs
Years of experience:
5-7, but flexible
Must-Haves:
Leadership experience, strong organizational skills, ability to train and direct others
Nice-to-Haves:
Bilingual (English/Spanish), forklift certification
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
