Job Title: Senior Cloud Data Architect
Location: Quincy, MA (Hybrid)
Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility for Extension)

The client is seeking a Senior Cloud Data Architect to support the design and implementation of a new public health data platform. This position will play a critical role in the data platform s architectural direction, ensuring robust integration of technologies such as Salesforce, Mulesoft, Snowflake, Informatica (IICS), and Tableau. The platform aims to transform the way data flows between state and local entities.

An external vendor is handling the platform s development and implementation. The Data Architect will collaborate closely with internal teams and the vendor to validate architectural decisions, contribute to key infrastructure components, and support data governance and modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop architecture for cloud-based data management systems.
• Implement both centralized (Data Warehouse) and decentralized (Data Mesh) data architectures.
• Create data models that define storage, access, and usage patterns in the cloud.
• Establish data security policies, including authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect scalable, reliable, and high-performance cloud data solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend cloud products and services for optimized data storage and processing.
• Ensure alignment with data governance standards and best practices.
• Implement cloud data management and governance processes.
• Conduct in-depth analysis and documentation of cloud data architecture strategies.
• Lead system performance assessments and create improvement action plans.
• Provide technical guidance on ETL design and development.
• Lead architecture and design sessions, making key decisions for the platform.
• Utilize Snowflake, Informatica IICS, SQL, Mulesoft, and Python for complex data integrations.
• Work with Salesforce CRM and other tools to deliver effective data solutions.
• Ensure timely delivery of compliant and privacy-conscious data systems.

Preferred Skills and Certifications:

• AWS or Cloud Data Architect Certification
• Snowflake Certification
• Experience with Tableau reporting
• Proficiency with Salesforce CRM

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years in cloud data architecture, data warehousing, data modeling, and system engineering
• Experience with enterprise data architecture principles and implementation
• 3 5 years of experience designing and developing cloud-based data solutions (preferably on AWS)
• 5+ years of experience with cloud database platforms such as Snowflake
• Proven ability to design and maintain end-to-end data architectures
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux and shell scripting
• Experience with multi-terabyte enterprise data platforms
• Background in system and database administration, including storage, backup, recovery, and networking
• Hands-on experience with Informatica IICS and Mulesoft for data integration
• Experience handling sensitive healthcare data with knowledge of HIPAA regulations
