7+ years of experience supporting projects and driving execution of complex technical work
Business Analyst experience with Underwriting systems
Understanding of Waterfall and Agile processes and documentation
Strong requirements documentation skills
Ability to analyze end-to-end process flows and system interconnectivity
Strategic thinking and attention to detail
Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and organizations

Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
Knowledge of Life Underwriting
Exposure to Customer Experience (CX) and User Experience (UX) practices
Experience with JIRA and Confluence tools
Proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams for design, testing, and deployment
Strong problem-solving and process improvement mindset
Ability to adapt to changing business priorities

Business Analyst Overview:
The Business Analyst supports the Protection New Business and Underwriting organization, focusing on platform modernization initiatives. This role is responsible for gathering, synthesizing, and documenting business requirements, rules configurations, and UAT testing needs to support Underwriting operations. The analyst acts as a bridge between business and technology, translating complex needs into actionable technical requirements while ensuring that system enhancements improve both customer and employee experiences. Success in this role requires a strategic mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate a dynamic, matrixed environment by collaborating with multiple teams to drive end-to-end solutions and process improvements.

Job Duties:
Serve as a Business Analyst for projects, applications, and technologies within Protection New Business and Underwriting
Document business requirements with detailed technical specifications
Understand and document process flows, ensuring system interconnectivity
Act as a liaison between Underwriting and other teams, advocating for business needs
Translate customer and employee requirements into actionable business solutions
Provide documentation to support prioritization of features and enhancements
Support Product Manager and Business Owner in aligning requirements with roadmaps
Identify opportunities to improve business processes through vendor updates and new features
Document procedural and process changes as needed
Ensure development outputs meet business expectations through cross-functional collaboration
Apply change management principles to ensure readiness for process and system updates
Work independently on high-visibility, cross-divisional projects
Document complex business problems and drive continuous improvement initiatives
