Data Warehouse Architect

Top Skills & Years of Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience with Teradata Cloud
  • 3+ years of experience with Business Objects XI and/or Power BI
  • 3+ years performing ETL processes

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Candidates with a federal background highly preferred

Interview Process: Virtual Interviews via MS Teams. A screenshot photo of candidate will be required for any interviews as well as a vendor present at beginning of virtual interview to validate candidate.

Duration: 1 year with possible extension.

Accepting local candidates to Michigan ONLY. Position will be hybrid, in office 2 days a week upon start and there is NO REMOTE ONLY option.

Tasks:

  • The Data Warehouse Architect works to ensure that the operational system database will support the data needs of the Child Welfare Data Warehouse, and the functionality needed to extract the needed data on a regular basi
  • Creating data warehouse-based applications including reporting, dashboards and other information analysis, visualizations and delivery systems.
  • Extract, transform, and load systems to move data from the various operational systems in which it is collected to a cleansed, consolidated data warehouse.
  • Work with data warehouse Federal reporting team members and end user query developers to design and improve database queries.
  • Data warehouse Architects are also expected to be able to work with agency requestors to define and develop new queries and provide training and technical support to developers and end user query developers.
  • Working with end user requestors to understand their data needs and create and implement solutions to those needs.
  • Develop and present training classes to better understand how to use the Teradata and BI development tools to create and implement reporting solution using the data warehouse.
  • Provide one on one support for developers and end users to assist them in accomplishing their federal data reporting needs.

  • Teradata Cloud version 17.20
  • Shared platform with other State of Michigan departments
  • Business Objects XI 4.2 SP4 on a Windows 2012 virtual platform.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required
