Job Description
You will be the Software Engineering Manager for the F-35 Mission Planning Environment (MPE) Software Team. Our team is responsible for developing the Mission Planning Software for the F-35 program.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Software Engineering Manager you will be responsible guiding a team of engineers through the full software development life cycle, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products that support the F-35 warfighter. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading a team of engineers in several cross-functional teams through the full software development life cycle, from design to delivery, initially focused on CNI, Sensors, and Weapons support for Mission Planning.
Fostering a culture of Agile development, promoting continuous improvement and innovation
Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure product integrity and quality
Assisting in Cost, Schedule, and Quality (CAM) activities
Developing Basis of Estimate (BOE) for future contracts
Managing workforce planning, including re-assignments, placements, recruitment, and terminations
Providing personnel management, including training, mentoring, career development, performance, and compensation management
This role requires exceptional leadership, technical, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or above in a STEM discipline, Software Engineering or Computer Science preferred
Software Engineering Management or Software Engineering Team Lead experience
Software development experience
Agile development experience

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
Proficiency in C#, C++, Python, OOA/OOD
Familiarity with Atlassian tool suite (JIRA/Confluence/Bitbucket) and Gitlab

Working knowledge of CI/CD principles, including test automation
Experience with Model-Based Engineering (Cameo)

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
