Team Overview:

With the Network Cyber Tools Team, we're not just pushing the boundaries of what Linux systems can do; we're redefining how they contribute to our cybersecurity fortress. If you're a Linux Systems Engineer who finds joy in shell scripts and dreams in log files, you might just be the hero we're looking for. Dive into a role where your Linux prowess becomes our cyber strength.

About the Role:

We're on the hunt for a Linux Systems Engineer who's not only adept at speaking 'Linux' but is also enthusiastic about turning that expertise into our cybersecurity shield. You'll be the backbone of our systems, ensuring they're as secure as they are efficient, all while working in an environment where your passion for networking services is not just understood but celebrated.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Craft shell scripts so elegant, they automate away the mundane, leaving you free to tackle the big challenges.
  • Configure and analyze system logs like a detective, tracing through the digital footprints to keep our systems robust and secure.
  • Be the guardian of our gateways, setting up firewalls and networking services with a finesse that makes SELinux blush.
  • Play architect with local storage, using partitions and logical volumes to build a foundation as strong as your Linux know-how.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain the systems that are the lifeblood of our operations, ensuring they're running smoother than a well-oiled machine.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of networking protocols such as DNS, SMTP, and DHCP, ensuring seamless communication within our infrastructure.
  • Master the use of network troubleshooting tools like tcpdump, Traceroute, Ping, Netstat, and nslookup, turning network issues into mere puzzles waiting to be solved. (Bonus points if your home network is the envy of your neighborhood!)

Required Skills:
  • A wizardry level in shell scripting that makes system maintenance tasks vanish.
  • A Sherlock Holmes-like knack for log analysis, because every byte tells a story.
  • Networking services know-how, with firewall configurations and SELinux policies as your spellbook.
  • Mastery in configuring local storage, because what's a wizard without their potions?
  • Proficiency in deploying, configuring, and maintaining systems; after all, a well-maintained broomstick never fails a witch.
  • Deep understanding of essential networking protocols like DNS, SMTP, and DHCP, paired with the ability to troubleshoot using tools such as tcpdump, Traceroute, Ping, Netstat, and nslookup.
  • AWS skills (EC2, S3, CloudFormation, Terraform) that show you're not just a ground wizard, but you can also ride the cloud.
  • Ansible expertise, because automation is your loyal familiar.
  • A penchant for keeping your scripts and incantations in GitHub/GitLab, ensuring your magic is well-documented and version-controlled.

Why Network Cyber Tools Team?
  • A playground for Linux enthusiasts where your cybersecurity impact is visible and valued.
  • A culture that not only gets your jokes about running high-availability clusters at home but also appreciates them.
  • Opportunities to expand your arsenal with AWS, Ansible, and beyond.

Required Certs:

Linux+, Cloud+

Preferred Certs:
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS SysOps Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect

We use Greenhouse Software as our applicant tracking system and Free Busy for HR screen request scheduling. At times, your email may block our communication with you. Please be sure to check your SPAM folder so that you don't miss updates on your application.
