Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. seeks a Director, Lead Software Engineer in New York, New York
Design, build, and sustain applications utilized by various business units. Function as a developer and architect for deliverables. Develop infrastructure related to capacity and establish a highly stable and resilient system. Deliver crucial projects facing the business for cash, swaps, and listed derivatives. Engage with clients to collect and analyze requirements and make system design decisions. Evaluate, integrate, and build necessary software. Conduct testing and deploy applications to the production environment. Participate in development projects, including the creation of high-performance, low-latency electronic trading systems, the advancement of intricate workflows, and life-cycle management capabilities across increasingly complex products. Collaborate with infrastructure teams to build cutting-edge systems, provide tools, applications, and platforms. Contribute to application projects, including the engineering of the Firm's trade allocation system, and the development of streamlined integration systems for upstream and downstream systems. Work with the firm's proprietary technologies and financial products. Establish and maintain productive relationships with various teams.
Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $158,000 and $158,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements:
Requires a Master's in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the position offered or two (2) years as a/an Technology Associate, or related. Requires any amount of experience with: Building scalable real-time systems; agile; Development methodologies; SDLC from engaging with stakeholders to translating stakeholder requirements to IT specifications; Liaising with Front Office and Back Office teams; Server-Side Java; Angular/React; Linux/Unix; Spring; SOAP; XML based technologies; CXF; DB2; MQ; JIRA; Sybase; PERL; GIT; NoSQL Technologies; Exposure to queuing, database and caching technologies; Eclipse IDE; and FIX protocol.
