Job Summary
The U Career Success office at the University of Utah is seeking a collaborative, detail-oriented and solutions-driven Data & Technical Platform Analyst to support, maintain, and enhance the technology infrastructure critical to delivering high-impact career services. The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between career services staff, university IT, and external vendors, ensuring smooth operation of systems while delivering actionable insights that inform strategy and improve student outcomes through data management best practices.
Responsibilities
Platform Management:
Manage and maintain administrator-level user permissions and configurations for multiple platforms
Provide front-line technical support for systems used by the U Career Success office, including Handshake, Salesforce, Acuity, Qualtrics, and other integrated platforms
Provide onboarding assistance for new hires
Data Management, Analysis, and Reporting:
Partner with internal stakeholders to define reporting needs and deliver clear, actionable dashboards and data products using Tableau
Aggregate, clean, and transform data from multiple evolving sources
Maintain and update existing dashboards and visualizations in Tableau
Build out new dashboards and visualizations, including converting current manually generated reports
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across multiple systems through validation and routine audits
Respond to ad hoc reporting requests
Stakeholder Support
Work effectively with subject matter experts (SMEs), leadership, and cross-functional teams to define goals and deliver impactful solutions.
Ability to clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Navigate evolving priorities and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
Proactively identify challenges and develop practical, data-informed solutions.
Manage timelines, communicate progress, and follow through on complex reporting tasks.
