Job Details

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and understand legacy IDMS database structures, schemas, and relationships.
  • Design and implement ETL processes for migrating data from IDMS into the new CCMS.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and data architects to define data mapping and transformation rules.
  • Develop COBOL and JCL scripts to support data extraction, formatting, and system interactions.
  • Design and implement integration solutions to enable communication between IDMS/COBOL systems and modern platforms using RESTful APIs or middleware.
  • Support the development of API gateways, adapters, or connectors to bridge legacy and modern systems.
  • Perform data validation, cleansing, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in mock conversions, integration testing, and UAT.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for data structures, mappings, and workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve migration and integration-related issues during and after go-live.
  • Collaborate with vendors, IT teams, and external partners to ensure successful integration.

Minimum Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with IDMS databases, COBOL, and JCL in mainframe environments.
  • Strong experience with VEGA, data extraction, and legacy system analysis.
  • Expertise in ETL processes, data validation, and reconciliation.
  • Hands-on experience with API development, API gateways (Apigee, MuleSoft), or middleware/ESB platforms.
  • Ability to integrate legacy systems with modern distributed applications.
  • Strong knowledge of relational and hierarchical data models.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with court systems, justice applications, or public sector IT projects.
  • Familiarity with CCMS platforms (Tyler Odyssey, Journal Technologies).
  • Knowledge of ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS) and scripting languages (Python, Shell).
  • Understanding of data governance, QA, and compliance standards.
  • Experience in Agile or hybrid project environments.
