Our flagship product, the Bloomberg Professional Terminal, is used by more than 350K financial professionals around the world for consuming market moving news, analytics and real-time financial data. The Software Updater team is responsible for the complete end to end software distribution and delivery services which keep the Bloomberg Professional Terminal software up to date on the 350K customer desktops.
The team's goal is to provide a seamless software update experience to our customers. The software updater team owns services that are used in the creation, packaging and fine-grained targeting of the new versions of Bloomberg terminal software to our clients. On the client device, the team's update engine downloads and reliably installs the latest rated versions of software. The team builds its services and solutions using modern C++ with a focus on high quality, reliability and availability.
The team has an exciting roadmap ahead with high impact and technically challenging projects that would significantly improve the installation time, reliability guarantees and make the distribution very efficient.
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Team Leader who will be able to successfully lead the engineering team and deliver high quality products.

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.

You'll need to have:
- 7+ years working with an object-oriented programming language (C++, Java, etc.)
- 3+ years of people management experience
- Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows OS fundamentals
- Curiosity and a drive to learn, grow, and constantly take on new challenges
- A thorough understanding of the systems you've worked on
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent collaboration and people leadership skills.
We'd love to see:
- Experience with digital signatures and cryptography
- Experience/Familiarity with installers and updaters
- 3+ years experience with Python
