Job Details

TransAmerica Technology Services Inc, a premier IT consulting and technical staffing company, is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join a cybersecurity team supporting a federal program by evaluating information system compliance with NIST 800-53 Rev. 4 or Rev. 5 security controls. Job Title: Jr. Cybersecurity Analyst (Security Assessor)

Location: Onsite Oklahoma City Metro Area (local candidates only)
Clearance: Public Trust or ability to obtain one

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review system documentation to assess compliance with assigned NIST 800-53 controls.
  • Record findings using customer-provided templates and tools.
  • Clearly document rationale for compliant and non-compliant determinations.
  • Attend and participate in kickoff and ongoing assessment meetings.
  • Support assessments ranging from simple (completed in about a week) to complex (spanning several weeks).
  • Complete internal training, including NIST familiarization and mock assessments to build consistency and confidence.

What You ll Need:

  • Familiarity with IT, cybersecurity, or information assurance concepts (education or hands-on).
  • Ability to read and interpret system documentation and apply logical judgment.
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to learn NIST 800-53 standards and work with structured templates/tools.
  • Must be local to the OKC metro area and available to work 100% onsite (limited exceptions possible).
  • Associate’s degree in computer science, information systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to NIST 800-53 controls.
  • CompTIA Security+ or similar foundational cybersecurity certification.
  • Prior experience in technical writing or compliance documentation.
