GPI is seeking a dynamic and experienced Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Team Leader to manage and expand our SUE operations across New England. Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare cost estimates, draft proposals, and negotiate scopes and fees for SUE projects and tasks.
  • Oversee SUE field coordination, technical personnel, and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution.
  • Maintain and prioritize a backlog of SUE projects, ensuring timely scheduling and efficient resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with Survey Managers to ensure prompt and accurate SUE data collection.
  • Oversee the delivery of collected data to office staff for production and ensure the final deliverables meet client expectations.
  • Engage with clients to communicate project deliverables, follow up on satisfaction, and ensure contract requirements are met.
  • Monitor project budgets, track progress, and perform invoice reviews.
  • Facilitate training and mentorship for field personnel to enhance service quality and workflow efficiencies.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, leveraging GPI's industry expertise to identify new opportunities in untapped market sectors.
  • Integrate advanced technologies, such as GIS/CAD, to improve field efficiency, data security, and deliverable options.
  • Develop QA/QC processes to adhere to company standards, industry guidelines, and best practices.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and support career development for SUE team members.

What You'll Need
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Subsurface Utility Engineering profession.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in supervisory role.
  • Proven track record of successful client & project management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of SUE geophysical designating, ground-penetrating radar (GPR)
  • Proficiency in Civil3D, and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with MicroStation OpenRoads a plus.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
