Position Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Biofuel Compliance Specialist to join our dynamic team in the United States. This pivotal role requires deep expertise in navigating the complex regulatory landscape of biofuels in the US market.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and management of comprehensive compliance strategies for RFS (Renewable Fuel Standard) and state-level programs including LCFS, CFP, and CFS
  • Oversee RIN (Renewable Identification Number) management, including verification, trading, and retirement
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with regulatory agencies including EPA and state authorities
  • Monitor regulatory developments and analyze potential business impacts
  • Guide internal stakeholders on compliance requirements and best practices
  • Design and implement process improvements to enhance compliance efficiency
  • Create and deliver comprehensive compliance training and documentation
  • Represent the company in industry working groups and regulatory hearings

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Environmental Science, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in biofuels compliance, with demonstrable expertise in RFS and state fuel programs (LCFS, CFP, CFS)
  • Comprehensive understanding of EPA regulations, RIN markets, LCFS credits, and fuel pathway certification processes
  • Proven track record of managing regulatory reporting and compliance data systems
  • Expert knowledge of biofuel feedstocks, production pathways, and life-cycle emissions analysis
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging regulators and industry partners
  • Advanced proficiency with compliance software and data management tools
  • Demonstrated success within biofuel production, trading, or obligated party environments
  • Understanding of voluntary carbon markets and sustainability reporting frameworks
  • Self-motivated with exceptional time management skills in remote work settings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Environmental Policy, Sustainability, or related discipline
  • Certification in regulatory compliance, environmental law, or carbon management
  • Experience with international biofuel regulations and global compliance frameworks
  • Background in renewable energy project development or sustainability consulting
  • Knowledge of emerging low-carbon fuel technologies and regulatory implications
  • Experience with compliance automation and process optimization
  • Public speaking or industry presentation experience
  • History of successful collaboration with legal and government affairs teams
